Our Values
We trust God’s WORD.
We look to God’s holy, perfect, and infallible Word, the Bible, which tells us of our sin (the law) and the good news of salvation in Jesus (the gospel). The Word of God, leads us towards honest living with one another, helps us experience joy, and this allows us to rest in the peace and grace of the Lord.
(2 Timothy 3:16-17)
We live this out by: Reading God’s Word in our services, preaching and teaching what it says, and encouraging one another to read it daily.
We join God’s MISSION.
Throughout Scripture we see God’s heart for reaching the lost and calling people into His Kingdom and family. Our church seeks to live out Christ’s Great Commission and help others come to know Jesus as Lord and Savior, both by feeding the flock (discipleship) and fishing for men (evangelism).
(Matthew 28:19-20)
We live this out by: Equipping families to raise and disciple children, providing Bible studies and other opportunities that help us grow in discipleship, and fostering opportunities to reach out to the unchurched community.
We embrace God’s COMMUNITY.
As a church, we value time together on Sunday and at different growth opportunities throughout the week. Our church provides a welcoming Christian community, rooted in God’s Word, in which we can encourage each other through the ups and downs of life to follow and rely on the Lord and His grace together, throughout all the days of the week. We also value family as part of God’s plan for community, desiring to equip and strengthen parents as they disciple their children. Because children are a vital part of Christ's Church, we joyfully welcome them into our worship services as we grow together in faith.
(Hebrews 10:24-25; Acts 2:46-47)
We live this out by: Gathering on Sundays, meeting throughout the week in Bible studies and in one another’s homes, welcoming children (and all ages) into our worship services, and taking time to be there for each other in both life’s celebrations and trials.
We glorify God in WORSHIP.
Worship is an action we carry out both on Sunday mornings and throughout the week in our vocations, homes, and everyday lives. Our worship service is rooted in the historic Christian church while remaining meaningful and relevant for today.
(Romans 12:1)
We live this out by: Receiving Word and Sacrament on Sunday mornings, singing both historic hymns and new songs, praying together using both our own words and historic liturgies, celebrating the church calendar, encouraging congregational involvement in the service, and promoting all ages to worship the Lord throughout the week in thought, word, and deed as we love God and neighbor.
